4 day trip to BALI
I never expected to be going to a sunny warm beach in such a short holiday, it was a sudden trip that my parents thought of to relieve the stress that me and my sisters have been getting from the piling stacks of homework and assignments, up-coming report cards being sent to our homes, the big lump in our head that never stops yapping about unneccesary negative thoughts of how it is the end of the world just because we lost one or two marks for the stupidest reasons…
It wasn’t only us who needed a break, both my parents needed some time off themselves. Mom has always been a ‘worry-wart’ and a ‘neat freak’, she can spot in a blink of an eye the smallest specks of dust on the coffee table. Simply putting it, our mom is like the trunk of this whole family, she’s the one who takes charge when some things go out of hand, but then again if she feels stressed or unhappy it affects the whole family. She is a strong leading woman, that gets everything she wants when she wants it, she is my mom.
When it comes to my dad, he definitely needs a relaxing and stress-free break, somewhere far off from the big city and those nosey business men. Dad, is like the peace maker of the family (the one who always acts calm, even in the worst of situations, or atleast that’s how he is to everyone else except me… He strangely finds it entertaining to only tease and make fun of me, rather than being fair and pick on everyone else too. We quarrel and make fun of each other alot, it becomes a habbit for me to treat my dad a bit differently from how my siblings treat him because I often only have him as my only family back in Jakarta while mom is taking care of everyone else in Melbourne.
So far I’ve introduced my parents, which has nothing to do with the point of this post but oh well XD
Here’s what really happened during the trip…
DAY 1
We arrived in Bali on the 7th of July, the weather there is even hotter than the one in Jakarta. It took over an hour for us to arrive in our hotel. The hotel we stayed in is called “Niko Hotel”, when we arrived we saw the most captivating view of a beach (well atleast it was for me). I realized our hotel was built on top of a cliff, and it had its own private beach. The hallways and rooms are always cool even without air conditioning, for it was speacialy built in a way to make most areas of the hotel shaded, but still have the wind blowing to the inside. After unpacking our bags, changed into shorts, we went to walk around the beach. I saw an island of ‘corals’ deeper in the ocean, without thinking I dared my sisters to a race and see who’d reach the center of the island first. I reached last… Passing through the corals was alot harder than i thought or even imagined. I felt like my bare feet was steping on spikey nails! I was practically carwling my way through the corals and waves with my bare hands and feet, wile my mom giggled her way through, taking every possible picture that she considered priceless. At some point I managed to reach where my 2 hysterically laughing sisters were at, one reached out her hand to attempted to help the poor little me (who was still crawling my way to the top). So, I chose what I thought was logical to do, which was to accept the kind offer. But sadly, that was the wrong choice to make after whats about to happen… So, I grabbed and pulled her hand, but instead of me standing up straight, gravity decided to make me unbalanced and making me pull my sister with my fall. We got hurt, some bleeding going on here and there, laughed at each others faces, and was dirty with dirt and seaweed scumbs, it was worthed.
DAY 2
Early in the morning we went to the beach again, but this time I’m not going any where near or even close to wherever I there’s sharp corals/ rocks in the reef. This time we had proper swim wear, the waves today are even more tedious than the other day. In the evening we went to a famous tourist attraction in Kuta. It was loaded with locals and especially tourists that come from all over the world in every corner of the street we go to. It was a long 1 hour drive, but it was worth going to. There was so many interesting things to shop, but all I eneded up getting was a singlet and a froggy key chain (which I absoloutely adore). We roamed through all the streets there, even going back and forth, passing through the stores/ markets we’ve passed through over 5 times. At night me and a friend of mine went to ride “The slingshot”, It’s this ride that puts you into a ball..and well, throws you up into the air just like a real slingshot. We had to sign a contract though, stating our date of birth, full name witness, and how we take full responsibility of chosing to ride this attraction (This wasn’t exactly making us feel any better… Thank you very much). When seated a buckled into the metal contraption, I realized there were people gathering around and pointing, there was even a guy or 2 prepairing video cameras and hand phones to shoot the whole thing. In the end of the ride, we got a DVD of the whole thing, my friend was more scared than I was, so it wasn’t as embarrassing as I thought it would be.
DAY 3
Today we move hotels, and this time it’s even more further away than we though it’d ever be. We went all the way up to the hills, and to the steep cliffs where we saw amazing views and sceneries of Mt.Bromo. It is cold, very cold. We went to see rice paddies and water buffalos, it was pretty interesting. In the end we went back to the hote and to our villas, it was MASSIVE… Like scary massive. Well.. there’s alot that happened today, but too tired to say any more than this..
DAY 4
I honestly don’t remember what happened on the last day no more. LOL oops?
My point is.. It was fun, sunny, and exhausting all at the same time.:D (might be going back to Bali in December) WOO, can’t wait!
